The Jedi Code

Here is the mantra on being Jedi:

There is no emotion, there is peace.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

There is no chaos, there is harmony.

There is no death, there is the Force.

One approach to view this, is the first part of the sentence is the starting point, and the end part of the sentence is the Jedi aspiration.

A similar version of the above is:

Emotion, yet peace.

Ignorance, yet knowledge.

Passion, yet serenity.

Chaos, yet harmony.

Death, yet the Force.

There has been a lot of discussion on the Jedi Code over time. Here is a link to one approach to the Jedi Code:

The other version of the code is the following:

Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy.

Jedi use their powers to defend and to protect.

Jedi respect all life, in any form.

Jedi serve others rather than ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy.

Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training.

As the Jedi Society is aware of the Sith, here is how the Sith approach things:

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

Through passion, I gain strength.

Through strength, I gain power.

Through power, I gain victory.

Through victory, my chains are broken.

The Force shall set me free.

It does suggest that we need to be aware of people who talk using such terms.
